  • Every Monday / the 4th Friday of every month
    (Open when the day is holiday and closed on the next day)

  • New Year period
    Closed from 24 December 2016 (Sat.) to 4 January 2017 (Wed.) in the fiscal year 2016/17

  • Temporary closure
    The Museum may be temporarily closed because of disasters or weather conditions. Guided tours and fieldworks may be cancelled. Thank you for your understanding.
    When weather warnings are issued in Gose City, the Museum is temporarily closed until the warning is withdrawn. / When a weather warning is issued during the opening time (10:00-17:00), the Museum is immediately closed. If the warning is withdrawn before 13:00, the Museum will be open two hours after the time of the withdrawal.

Booking for guided tours

Since 1 July 2002, Specified Non-Profit Corporation gHotneth has provided guided tours at the Suiheisha History Museum and neighboring institutions upon request. Since the tours are organized by the non-profit corporation, the payment of the actual cost is requested.

Fees (Apart from the admission fees)

  • In-house guided tour: \2,000 for a group of 10 persons or less / in case of a group of eleven and more persons, \200 per person

  • Field tour outside the Museum: \3,000 for a group of 10 persons or less / in case of a group of eleven and more persons, \300 per person

How to book

Contact the Suiheisha History Museum (Tel. 0745-62-5588) before the deadlines for bookings.
Guided tours and fieldworks are not provided after 16:00.
The booked schedules may be adjusted by some 30 minutes depending on the schedules for other groups.

Deadlines for bookings

If you wish to join a guided tour on either of the 1st to 15th day of the month, a booking should be made before the 15th day of the previous month; if the preferred date is either of the 16th to the final day of the month, please make a booking before the final day (or the closing day on the year-end) of the previous month.
(For example, make a booking by 15 July if the preferred date is 10 August and by 31 July if the preferred date is 20 August.)
